Contaminated Drugs Are Knowingly Being Sold

The notorious pharmaceutical company, GlaxoSmithKiline, that for years hid the dangers of it’s diabetes drug, Avandia, while it raked in millions in profits has been fined $750 million for healthcare fraud for selling contaminated drugs!

As reported in the NY Times Glaxo has agreed to pay $750 million to settle criminal and civil complaints that the company for years knowingly sold contaminated baby ointment and an ineffective antidepressant. In total, GlaxoSmithKline “sold 20 drugs with questionable safety that were made at a huge plant in Puerto Rico that for years was rife with contamination.”

Talk about profits at the expense of patients! The problem we have is that have deep pockets. They make so much money that it’s worth the fines to continue marketing junk to it’s customers (that is us). We are partially to blame. Instead of questioning doctors over their prescription practices we mindlessly take whatever is given us. To make matters worse we even go to doctors for prescriptions we’ve seen advertised on TV because the actors tell us how wonderful they are.

Wake up folks, people are dying! Learn more about the drugs you and your loved ones are taking and lets continue to support our courageous U.S. Attorneys who are going after these titans.
