Seniors: Don’t Be Duped By The Talking Heads!

Question 1: If the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is as bad, as we’re led to believe by conservative members of Congress and Fox News, why are states that are suing the government over the bill lining up to take some of the money offered by the bill ? Question 2-If the ACA is as bad as we’re led to believe by corporate billionaires who are financing demonstrations against the bill, applying for money from the bill to help defray some of their healthcare costs?

Answer: That’s because the bill is good! WAKE UP! These dopes who are rallying Americans to elect candidates who will vote to repeal the bill are only interested in gutting all entitlement programs. That’s what we should be really worried about-the talk among conservatives is to decrease social security benefits and change Medicare to a voucher program to purchase private insurance plans.

Here’s a story that was released just yesterday. The Department of Health and Human Services announced the “first round of applicants accepted into the Early Retiree Reinsurance Program,” a $5 billion program established by the new health care law to help employers and states “maintain coverage for early retirees age 55 and older who are not yet eligible for Medicare.” According to the agency, “nearly 2,000 employers, representing large and small businesses, State and local governments, educational institutions, non-profits, and unions” applied and have been accepted into the program and “will begin to receive reimbursements for employee claims this fall.” Nineteen of the twenty two states that are suing the government over healthcare reform will receive these funds.

Ironically, one of those employers is the oil, chemicals, and manufacturing conglomerate Koch Industries, which has also spent millions of dollars opposing reform.

Ask yourself, could healthcare reform be that bad if all these entities who are so against reform want to partake in its benefits?

Of course not!

Employers started doing this aronud WWII to attract the most qualified workers. It’s a benefit they have absolutely no obligation to provide and now days many simply can’t afford to be doing it. The Obama care bill will put several hundred thousand if not millions out of work.
